Yet Another New Look

yet another new look

Yes, another “new” design. I apologize to all of you loyal fans who kept clicking on my site since early yesterday, just to see if I was done with what I wanted to change (yes, I am obsessed!). Well, now I am done.

I am FINALLY finished, satisfied, and am thinking that I’m going to like the way things are on here.. Don’t you?

Sure, You may not see many differences, but trying to add that new sidebar on the right, took me twelve hours of messing around. I kept receiving errors, the sidebar refused to stay in the correct place, and I was just about ready to move this blog over to Movable Type. That’s how fed up I was with trying to figure out what was wrong.

My brain power and determination paid off, I figured it out, and I even added a few more features…

Anyway, it’s almost three in the morning over here, and I’ve got to get to sleep! Right after I finish re-reading The Foodie Handbook for a soon-to-be book review.

Blog you later,

P.S. One new feature allows you to drag a photo to share the post with your buddies on Twitter, Stumble Upon, and other great social networking sites. Try it out and tell me what you think!

UPDATE: I’ve received emails, DM’s on Twitter, and everything of the sort by people saying that the content column is significantly lower than the sidebars, when this site is viewed on Internet Explorer or Opera. Until I get that issue fixed, could I ask you to use another web browser? The site has been tested and is best viewed on Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome and Netscape.

UPDATE: Thanks to the genius of my Twitter buddies, @S_GraceGourmet, @jenncuisine, @antoniotahhan,  @caviarandcodfsh, and especially @manggy (who directed me to what I needed to fix), the site should be working fine with Internet Explorer! Now, if you’re using Opera, sorry… You’re kind of screwed (not so much!) and need to download: Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome, Netscape, or (the dreaded!) Internet Explorer.

You’re definitely a genius. Your site is getting better and better. While I’m having a hard time with coding, etc, whatever you call it, you can change your site in just a few days or day. Your hard work paid off. Congrats Kamran. :D Here’s to your brain power. :)

With every new design you do you amazes me more and more. Really! :) How many years ago did you begin to design/code? I have the basic skills in website design, but blogs are something new for me.

I LOVE the new feature of the photo. I have never seen it before in any other web :D

I am planning to buy my own domain and move to wordpress, and I suppose I will re-design it then. But first I must finish my exams =(

I have stayed awake until 2 or 3AM just to finish some design many times too :) Most of my friends say that I’m crazy. I still think that they just don’t know how funny it can be :)

Love it!! The green color you chose is awesome, really sets the tone for your blog. And the 12 hours of fussing around was worth it – the sidebar looks great. Congrats Kamran, I can tell how much hard work went into this.

    January 25th, 2010

EVERYONE- thank you so much for your kind comments! I really appreciate the positive feedback that I’m getting!

Ksenia- I am a total newbie at coding and web design. I learned how to code in June of last year, but that was only HTML. I learned CSS and all of that other good stuff in December. I still continue to learn and am amazed that I actually figured out how to do this stuff.

And thanks, I though it would be a nifty little feature to add on! Including the translator for some who visit my blog and don’t understand English…

And I hear you about staying up really late to finish things. I guess it’s fun to accomplish something that many other people aren’t able to do, but I think it’s more self determination that makes me try to finish things like this!
